Department of Health Hospitals & Primary Care - Hospitals NW North West Regional Hospital Applications must be submitted by Wednesday 19 November, 2025 11:55 PM Award/Classification: Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award, Registered Nurse, Grade 8, Level 3 Employment type: Fixed-term, part-time Region: North West Location: North West Regional Hospital The North West Diabetes Centre delivers multidisciplinary care and manages both type 1 and complex type 2 diabetes in adults, adolescents, and children through both inpatient and outpatient services across the North West region of Tasmania The Team: The North West Diabetes Centre delivers multidisciplinary care and manages both type 1 and complex type 2 diabetes in adults, adolescents, and children through both inpatient and outpatient services across the North West region of Tasmania. Further, the Diabetes Centre provides education and in-service to health professionals and teachers concerning diabetes management. The team includes an endocrinologist, nurse practitioner, nurse unit manager, credentialled diabetes educators, other nursing staff and specialised allied health staff including a dietitian, podiatrist and psychologist, and administration support. The Role: Within a Tasmanian Health Service (THS) – North West Framework, and in accordance with Agency Policy and Procedures, the Nurse Practitioner - Diabetes is responsible, within the defined scope of practice, for the development, provision and evaluation of diabetes clinical/community nursing care that ensures optimal patient client/family and community outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner draws upon their professional competencies to improve clinical service outcomes through effective research and quality improvement activities and will actively participate statewide and nationally in research, publication and education in the specialty of diabetes. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible as a leader, advisor and mentor for other senior nurses practicing in the field of diabetes. You will need: - Endorsement to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Australia. - Advanced competence in evidence-based nursing practice in diabetes, with an awareness and understanding of the internal and external service needs. Details of appointment: Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 38 hours per fortnight, until 26 January 2026. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary:$144,146 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. - Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: - Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
