The Department of Health isresponsible for the overall strategic direction, management andperformance of the Western Australian (WA) public health system toensure the delivery of high-quality, sustainable, safe and timelyhealth services.

The WA public health systememploys approximately 55,000 dedicated staff who ensure the healthand wellbeing of the State’s population throughout themetropolitan, regional and remote areas of WA. The WA health systemas a single health entity covers an area covering approximately 2.5million square kilometres.

The foundations thatunderpin essential services to the community include supporting ourworkforce; robust standards for the delivery of high-quality andsafe care, and optimal patient and community experience; soundfinancial management and clinical performance; supporting ourworkforce; infrastructure; and information and communicationstechnology (ICT) delivery; and supporting and enhancing researchand innovation.

Eligibility toApply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants musthave a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be anAustralian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live andwork indefinitely in Australia (for permanentappointments).

OtherConditions: WA Health engages staff in positions of trustand responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants toundertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as partof the appointment process. Referees may also be asked to commenton an applicant’s integrity and past demonstration of ethicalbehaviour.

Whilst this selectionprocess will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it mayalso be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout thehealth service. In addition to this, should the successfulapplicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the nextmost suitable applicant may also be selected from this process.Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve(12)months from whenthe authorised delegate endorses therecruitment decision.

PositionProfile: The Director Corporate Services is anintegral member of the leadership team who provides and contributesto the Department’s strategic and operational plans andmanages the Department’s resources to ensure services areprovided within budgetary, organisational and legislative controls,and aligned with the Department’s strategic direction andvision. The Director leads a large, complex and multi-disciplinarydirectorate to deliver efficient and effective corporate businessand support functions across the Department to ensure the provisionof quality, customer focussed services.
