Position Summary

Build a culture of purposeful learning and teaching fostering life-long learning with key responsibility for the development of a deep understanding of pedagogical knowledge and practice.

Cultivate a student-centered professional learning community informed by data and contemporary research, theory and practice.

Set high expectations for the whole school through collaborative and explicit planning in the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum that identifies the diversity of individual needs and abilities.

Possess a sound knowledge of emerging trends in educational theory, learning theory, curriculum design, learning technologies, assessment and methodologies underpin all learning and teaching programs. The Learning & Teaching Leader has strategic and operational responsibility of student reporting.

Be a member of the executive leadership, who along with other members of the Leadership Team, holds collective responsibility for the overall leadership of our school.

- FTE / Hours per fortnight: 1.0

- Employment Status: POL - Fixed Term until end 2026, Substantive teaching position -Ongoing Full-Time

- Location: Sacred Heart Primary Yarrawonga

Sacred Heart Primary School was established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1890 and has provided high-quality education to families in Yarrawonga and the surrounding districts for over 122 years.

- Experience in human resource management and administration (desirable but not essential).

Magnify Sandhurst

In 2025, a diocesan first, a comprehensive and exciting new learning and teaching program was simultaneously launched across over 50 Catholic schools in the Sandhurst Diocese.

Magnify Sandhurst will be introduced across 2025 to 2027, with each phase designed to bring measurable improvements in each learning environment.

Magnify Sandhurst is set to transform learning for students with more specific and explicit teaching practices, bringing greater consistency and a more predictable and effective education experience for all students.
