Senior Manager – Governance and Performance

Salary: PSCSAA 2024 Level 7, $139,860 to $149,485

Fremantle Prison is currently seeking a Senior Manager Governance and Performance, who is responsible for implementing, coordinating and continuously improving Fremantle Prison's business management and performance, including site-wide policies, key performance indicators, frameworks, projects, processes, and systems.

The role engages with senior management and stakeholders to provide advice, knowledge, and support to the Director on the Prison’s business operations, obligations and critical activities including financial and workforce planning, policies, reporting and compliance, audit management, governance and risk management, systems development and related activities to enable continuous improvement in organisational practices, processes and performance.

There is one permanent, full‑time position for immediate appointment. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed‑term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment.

Position Requirements

- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex problems, assess their significance, and develop innovative solutions including initiative in decision‑making.

- Well-developed conceptual, analytical, research and writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to synthesise complex information into clear and succinct documented processes, procedures, policy, written recommendations, reports and briefings.

- Substantial skills in effective negotiation and influencing others, building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to communicate with people of diverse cultures effectively and sensitively.

- Demonstrated experience in applying the principles of risk management, workplace health and safety, equal opportunity, and diversity in the workplace.

- Experience in developing and progressing priority actions associated with the heritage management framework of a World or National heritage listed site would be highly regarded.

- Demonstrate the behaviours within the leadership context as outlined below.
