Heritage College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Japanese Teacher to join our vibrant team at the Officer campus.

This is a part-time (0.40 FTE), fixed-term position to cover a staff member on leave, open to both graduate and experienced teachers, commencing 6 October 2025 and concluding 9 December 2025. The work days are Monday and Wednesday.

The focus of the Classroom Teacher is on the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. The Classroom Teacher will teach a range of students/classes and is accountable for the effective delivery of programs. An integral aspect of the planning is to embed the characteristics and values of the Seventh-day Adventist school system in all aspects of learning and teaching. The Classroom Teacher utilizes critical reflection to improve their own knowledge and skills to engage students and improve their learning.

The successful candidate will demonstrate that they:

- Plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes
- Use critical reflection to improve the knowledge, learning and skills of students
- Use multiple sources of feedback on their classroom practice to inform their professional learning goals
- Show a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning within the school and the wider Seventh-day Adventist school system
- Can support and actively promote, and not undermine, the Christian-based values and ethos of the College based on the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- Have the capacity to teach the Australian curriculum in the context of the college's Christian-based ethos
- Be able to plan for and lead daily Christian-based class devotions to students
- As part of our screening requirement, reference checks will be undertaken including referencing your ability to work safely with children.
- These positions are subject to maintaining registration with VIT.

Heritage College provides co-educational Christian education from 3 and 4-year-old Early Learning through to Year 12.

The salary range is $83-124k based on years of experience.
