Job Description
Take a Walk, Change a Day — Companion Walks with a Gentleman at HammondCare Darlinghurst
Sometimes, all it takes to brighten someone’s day is a short stroll and good company. We’re looking for friendly volunteers to join one of our residents — a kind and thoughtful gentleman — for relaxed walks around the neighbourhood.
These gentle outings offer more than just fresh air. They’re a chance to share stories, exchange a few laughs, and simply be present. Your company helps support his mobility, lifts his spirits, and brings a welcome change of pace to his day.
No special skills needed — just a warm nature, a steady step, and a little time to spare.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we/'re passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of people cared for by HammondCare.
HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements
National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare, NDIS Worker Screening Check.
We would be happy to discuss your availability Monday to Friday between 10-11am or 1-3pm for an hour visit weekly or fortnightly.
