This position provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of projects identified through the Victorian Government’s Planning our Basin Future Together (POBFT) prospectus. The Senior Project Officer will coordinate delivery of rural water system reconfiguration, reform and modernisation projects that improve Victorian waterways and minimise the socio‑economic impacts of Basin Plan water recovery. The Senior Project Officer will work closely with key partners and stakeholders, including rural water corporations, Catchment Management Authorities and relevant areas of the Victorian and Commonwealth governments, to support the successful development and effective delivery of POBFT projects in Victoria. The Senior Project Officer will need to display strong stakeholder management and communication skills and have established and effective working relationships with regional delivery agencies and stakeholders.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- An appropriate qualification in engineering, science, agriculture, natural resource management or project management, or an approved equivalent is highly desired.
- A strong knowledge of Victorian irrigation systems and stakeholders would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated understanding of Murray‑Darling Basin issues, including the Basin Plan would be highly regarded.
- A current Victorian Driver’s Licence is required.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 Years. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne hybrid work arrangements available.
