We are looking for an experienced, smart and friendly PAM Technical Engineer to join our growing security professional services team. You should be passionate about learning and working with a wide variety of technologies in the IT industry, with a strong focus on Privileged Access Management and securing privileged accounts across enterprise environments.

Modern 42 has several projects in the pipeline focused around Privileged Access Management, credential vaulting, endpoint privilege management, and session monitoring. This role offers the opportunity to work on various projects across industries such as Federal & State Government, Banking, Finance and Health. The successful candidate will be deployed to clients in either a skills augmentation capacity or part of one of our project's delivery teams.

As a part of our team, you will work closely with our Identity and Security Architects, Senior Software Engineers and Solutions Architect to grow and develop your skills and be provided with opportunities to both expand your certifications and to gain hands on learning experiences with new PAM technologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Contribute to the implementation and configuration of PAM solutions including BeyondTrust, CyberArk, Delinea, or similar platforms on existing and greenfield PAM projects

- Deploy and manage password vaulting, credential rotation, and endpoint privilege management capabilities

- Configure session management, monitoring, and recording for privileged access activities

- Ensure end-to-end security compliance and use of best practices in our project rollouts

- Diagnose and resolve complex PAM-related service issues across infrastructure and applications

- Implement privileged account discovery, credential management, and governance workflows

- Integrate PAM platforms with ITSM, SIEM, directory services, and vulnerability management systems

- Provide expert input on PAM architecture, integrations, and platform stability

- Liaise with stakeholders and suppliers, fostering a collaborative mindset

- Engage in continuous learning to expand skills in new PAM toolsets and security technologies

Requirements

Due to the nature of some of our clients you will need to hold Australian Citizenship and be eligible or hold a current Australian Baseline Clearance (or higher)

Hybrid working with minimum 3 days a week in our office

Your Toolkit

- 2-5+ years of experience in IT security implementation, with a focus on Privileged Access Management

- Proven proficiency in using PAM technologies (BeyondTrust Password Safe/EPM, CyberArk, Delinea Secret Server, or similar platforms)

- Proven proficiency in deploying and managing PAM tooling and processes

- Strong understanding of privileged account security, credential management, and password rotation

- Knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Group Policy

- Experience with session management, audit trails, and privileged account governance

- Proficiency in PAM automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash (Highly desirable)

- Understanding of network fundamentals including protocols, ports, and certificates

- A passion for cybersecurity and enterprise security technologies

- Stellar interpersonal skills—your ability to communicate effectively is key

- Proven time management and workload management skills

- Proven ability to take ownership of projects and deliver critical workloads, meeting deadlines

- Troubleshooting expertise in PAM technologies and enterprise infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field

- Experience with multiple PAM platforms and migration/integration projects

- Vendor certifications for PAM platforms (e.g., BeyondTrust Certified Implementation Engineer, CyberArk Certified Delivery Engineer, Delinea Certified Professional)

- Experience with Linux/Unix administration and multi-platform PAM deployment

- Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and cloud-based PAM solutions

- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible)

- Integration experience with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira) and SIEM systems (Splunk, QRadar)

- Understanding of zero trust security principles and least privilege access

- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or cloud security credentials
