Position Overview
Ancestry.com.au is Australia’s largest family history website with over 2 billion genealogy records available to search. We are looking for a Digitisation Operative for an upcoming project that includes the digitisation of collections held by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW. This will take place on site at the Tasmanian Archives and Special Collections, Libraries Tasmania, Hobart, TAS. The assignment is a 3‑month fixed‑term contract; the successful candidate must be available for full‑time work and able to start early in December.
What you will do
- You will operate and maintain the imaging equipment (training will be given)
- You will quality‑assure resulting images
- You will carry out minor document prep as required (and permitted by the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of South Australia)

- You have proven IT ability
Desirable but not essential
- Previous experience of similar project work
- General knowledge and appreciation of history/genealogy
- General knowledge of photography
Contract Details
- Contract: Temporary (3 months)
- Rate: $28
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week excluding meal breaks.
- The Archive building is open to staff between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.
