Reporting to the Fleet / Operations Manager, the position includes the following responsibilities:

- Run to timeslots, delivering general freight in and around the Regional, Metropolitan areas and occasionally interstate

- Travelling to various customers sites and preparing trucks to be unloaded / loaded

- Flexibility to respond to business needs at short notice

Work Health and Safety

- Securing and restraining loads in a safe manner as per operational requirements

- Performing vehicle pre-start checks

- Complete all paperwork requirements

- Perform general housekeeping of the Prime Movers / Trailers / SCT & customer premises

Policies and Procedures

- Comply with all site requirements and such other matters as may be directed by the Company

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Experience

- Current MC/HC Driver’s license

- Singles / B-Double driving experience

- Impeccable safe driving record and commitment to creating a safe work environment

Knowledge

- Operation of a Prime Mover and trailer sets

- Transporting freight in a safe and efficient manner

- Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility

- Knowledge & experience with load restraint procedures

Personal Qualities

- Reliable and punctual

- Flexibility with start and finish times

- Reliability, Honesty & Motivation

- Strong work ethic

- Strong safety and driving focus

- Hold a passion for providing a high-level of service with a positive attitude and work collaboratively within a team

Other important information

- We reserve the right to commence recruitment proceedings prior to the stated closing date.

- The successful candidate will have to undertake an Australian Federal Police check and Pre-Employment Medical (for certain roles) which will be arranged and paid for by SCT.
