Job Opportunity

Nes-Fircroft is seeking a Mechanical Reliability Engineer with experience in Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) to join our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a base metals mining company with operations in Western Australia and overseas. As a Mechanical Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for procuring new overseas HME equipment and developing maintenance and reliability strategies to support the Manager - Assets.

The position offers a flexible roster, with options to work in Perth or on-site, initially for 6-12 months with the possibility of becoming a full-time employee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Lifecycle Management and Work Management improvements.
  • Monitor equipment performance related to cost, performance, and reliability; conduct root cause analysis and failure reviews.
  • Collaborate with the LT planner to deliver major component change-out programs and ConMon programs (including oil sample analysis).
  • Perform parts interpretation and support active projects.
  • Liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose faults, and implement solutions.
  • Manage OEM and major component warranty claims.
  • Implement audit processes and schedules.
  • Analyze complex problems and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Review MTBF and MTTR data and develop improvement strategies; conduct post-mortem analyses using RCA, FMEA, LORA, etc.
  • Monitor wear rates of GET, tyres, and undercarriage components, and develop action plans.
  • Establish reporting dashboards to monitor asset data.
Requirements
  • Degree and/or certification in Mobile Plant or related field.
  • WA C Class Driver's License.
  • Proven experience as an HME Reliability or Maintenance Engineer.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CMMA (Oracle preferred) or Pronto.
  • Experience in strategy implementation.
  • Strong stakeholder influencing skills.
