This part-time role is responsible for facilitating safe and supported contact between children and their parent or carer, particularly where contact is ordered or agreed upon but cannot occur independently due to safety, conflict, or communication concerns.
The successful candidate will apply their knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and trauma-informed practice to assess suitability for services, ensure the safety of all parties, and maintain a positive, respectful environment for child-parent contact.
Key responsibilities include:

- Maintaining accurate case notes, assessments, and client files using internal systems.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including legal and child protection services, where required.
- Participating in supervision, reflective practice, and professional development to support continuous improvement in service delivery.
About you:
You are a calm, confident, and child-focused practitioner with a strong understanding of child development, family conflict, and trauma-informed care. You are passionate about creating safe spaces for children and families navigating challenging transitions.
Essential requirements include:
- Tertiary qualifications in social or behavioural sciences, with studies in child development.
- Experience working with children and families, including those affected by domestic and family violence, separation, or conflict.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Family Law Act and child protection frameworks.
- Senior First Aid/CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Well-developed risk assessment and case management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and uphold the values and ethics of RAQ.
