The Role:
The Project Manager – Cyber Security is responsible for the delivery of a large-scale and complex cyber security vulnerability remediation project. This role involves managing the full ICT project lifecycle—from planning and scoping through to implementation and transition to business-as-usual—while ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations and strategic objectives.
The position provides expert advice and strategic input into the development of project deliverables to ensure quality standards are met and compliance is maintained with relevant organisational policies, strategies, and architectural frameworks.
The role oversees a dedicated project team consisting of ICT technical specialists focused on vulnerability remediation. Responsibilities include team leadership, governance and change management activities, preparation of key project documentation (e.g. plans, schedules, reports), and the provision of regular, consistent reporting.
Key Requirements:

- Extensive experience leading large-scale, complex ICT or cyber security projects across the full project lifecycle, with a proven track record of achieving successful outcomes.
- High-level knowledge and practical application of recognised project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2).
- Strong negotiation and communication skills for effective engagement with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategies, frameworks, and plans that support informed decision-making on project issues.
- Proven experience leading, managing, and mentoring multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver against defined budgets and timelines.

Highly Regarded Experience:

- Familiarity with the ASD Essential Eight strategies for mitigating cyber security incidents, particularly in the context of vulnerability management and remediation.
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability management platforms and tools such as Rapid7, Microsoft Secure Score, Microsoft Defender, Privileged Access Management systems, and cyber security operating models and strategies.
