This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2026

The School
Warnbro Community High School (WCHS) is seeking a highly motivated and effective Science Teacher. Our moral purpose is ‘to make a positive difference to the lives of young people’. As a teacher at WCHS you will be part of a professional learning community committed to engaging in practice supported by evidence and research to best meet the need of our students. WCHS is embedding an explicit teaching approach across all Learning Areas.
Situated 50 km south of Perth, WCHS is located in the beach-side communities of Warnbro and Port Kennedy. WCHS provides a vibrant and nurturing learning environment that takes a holistic approach to the growth and development of our students. You ideally will be a passionate teacher of Science with a proven ability to engage students across all levels including Australian Tertiary Admission Rank. The successful applicant should have high expectations, exhibit a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment. They will ideally be experienced and knowledgeable in teaching Science, as well as being flexible and adaptive to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate and engage in professional learning to improve student outcomes.
- Maintain positive classroom learning environments and use a range of pedagogies.
- Differentiate instruction and apply explicit teaching strategies.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families and the wider network.
- Contribute to school-wide practices and coaching/mentoring of staff where appropriate.
