Excavator / Loader Operator

Based at our InfraBuild Recycling Hemmant site, the Excavator / Loader Operator will perform a range of operating duties within the scrap metal yard. This is a day shift role with standard hours from 6am to 2pm, Monday to Friday with an additional requirement of 12 hour shifts and weekend during busy periods. This is a full-time permanent position with on-the-job training provided and excellent opportunities for career progression.
Pay rate for this role is $38.00 per hour plus overtime paid at penalty rates.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Loading and unloading trucks and shipping containers
- Emptying trucks - dragging out the back of a tipper
- Loading metal objects of various size onto conveyor to be processed through the shredder
- Adhering to workplace safety procedures at all times
- Maintaining cleanliness in the yard and operational areas
Ideally you will have:
- Knowledge of various excavator attachments and magnets
- Experience operating an excavator and maneuvering around a busy environment
- Experience in scrap recycling, construction or manufacturing is highly advantageous
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment
- A positive mindset with a general willingness to learn
- Passion for working as part of a collaborative team
