Overview

Join a team of skilled Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners in a supportive environment that champions your professional growth. As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner, based in Townsville, you’ll work with NDIS participants of all ages, delivering services across community, clinic, and telehealth settings.

- Build Meaningful Relationships: Establish trust and rapport with participants, families, and support networks to foster collaborative partnerships.
- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Undertake Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) to identify underlying causes and inform tailored interventions.
- Develop Individualised Support Plans: Create and implement Behaviour Support Plans that are evidence-based and aligned with NDIS guidelines.
- Provide Education and Training: Equip carers and support teams with the knowledge and skills to implement strategies effectively and sustainably.
- Promote Positive Behaviour: Focus on reducing restrictive practices and enhancing participants/' quality of life through proactive support.
- Monitor and Evaluate Progress: Collect and analyse data to assess the effectiveness of interventions and make necessary adjustments.

About You

We believe that talented clinicians are developed and nurtured, not just found through an exhaustive list of requirements. With that being said, there are a few requirements for our PBS practitioners, which are:

- You hold a relevant bachelor's degree (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Counselling, Social, Disability, Teaching or Social Sciences).
- Endorsed as ‘Core’ or above against the PBS Capability Framework (evidence of letter of suitability from the NDIS Commission also required).
- You have full Australian working rights.
- You have prior experience in community, private or acute settings.
- You have access to your own vehicle and hold a current driver’s licence.
- You have or are willing to obtain a NDIS Workers Check and Working with Children Check.
