About the Role
We shine a light on all things property. Our business aims to simplify the property journey for all involved; motivated by expertise and our exclusive data. Changing the way people engage with property requires a team of diverse thinkers.
As an Engineer on Skylight, you will help shape a new product within Domain. Reporting to the Technical Lead, this position can be based in Sydney or Melbourne with hybrid office attendance. This is a rare chance to build from the ground up. You will work with a strong team, solve real customer problems and contribute to an ambitious platform that will define the future of how agents work.
What you'll be doing
- Own the full lifecycle of small to medium-sized projects, from development to production and continuous improvement
- Work with senior engineers to build scalable, high-quality solutions that align with engineering best practices
- Maintain and update existing services, addressing technical debt and ensuring ongoing performance improvements
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and team discussions to uphold high engineering standards
- Provide on-call support for services owned by the team, ensuring high availability and reliability
What We’re Looking For
- Expertise in React/Typescript
- Understanding shift-left testing and how to implement it in practice
- Familiarity with functional and object-oriented programming paradigms
- Experience working with document and relational data persistence models
- Understanding of cloud architecture and cloud design patterns
- Familiarity with TDD, BDD, and domain-driven design principles
- Knowledge of synchronous (API) and asynchronous (messaging) integration patterns
- Basic understanding of modern application security practices (OWASP guidelines)
