The Better Futures / YJCSS (Youth Justice Community Support Service) Support Worker is designed to deliver multiple youth-based roles in Swan Hill and surrounds.
MASP is a not-for-profit organisation located in Swan Hill, Victoria, seeking to fill a part-time temporary position to 31 December 2026.
The position will support the delivery of youth-specific program areas including:
Better Futures
The Better Futures program assists eligible young people aged 15 years and 9 months to 21 years who are transitioning from Out of Home Care (OOHC) and Kinship Care, or who need post-care support.
Youth Justice Community Support Service
The YJCSS is an intensive support service that is designed to complement YJ’s statutory case management role. It provides voluntary, community-based intensive support and services to young people involved with Youth Justice.
Expected commencing salary of $40.20 per hour plus statutory superannuation. Because MASP is a non-profit organisation, you also have the option to maximise your income through salary packaging.

Desired Skills and Experience
Essential role‑specific skills, knowledge and experience
- Possession of the required qualification (minimum Diploma‑level preferred).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (including public speaking, presentations and facilitation skills).
- Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of key issues related to theoretical frameworks that relate to attachment and trauma theory, brain development, age and stage of development, resilience theory, and the neurobiological development of young people who have suffered trauma.
- Working knowledge of Out of Home Care, Child Protection and Youth Justice legislation and systems.
- Skills in assertive outreach and engaging with clients that have experienced trauma and/or neglect.
- Experience in building positive relationships and communicating effectively with internal and external contacts with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to assist young people transition and develop the necessary skills for independent living.
