You will be working in the Avionics Shop, where you'll be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of electronic components. This includes tasks such as repairing oven control modules, microwave circuits, and emergency power supplies, as well as modifying and reconfiguring business and cockpit seating systems. You'll also support software configuration for onboard systems, perform harness and lighting repairs, and contribute to the overhaul of cabin equipment like coffeemakers and bun warmers. This hands-on role is based in our Electrical Overhaul Workshop and offers a diverse and technically engaging scope of work.
For the successful candidate, there will also be the potential for product certification qualification (NLCS) to be attained after a minimum qualification period (subject to performance and availability).
You’ll have –
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills, or the ability to successfully transfer your qualifications through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process OR an Allied trade qualification or Australian recognised equivalent qualification
- Prior experience working within components (Avionics shop) advantageous
- Commitment to being customer focused with flexibility and willingness to undertake other reasonable duties as required
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
- Demonstrated ability to work safety and adhering to all safety and compliance procedures
- High attention to detail and ability to comply with Qantas Maintenance procedures
- The ability to work to tight timelines with minimal supervision
- Flexibility with the ability to meet changing departmental requirements
