Join our team as a Wheel and Brakes Aircraft Technician and play a critical role in ensuring the safety and performance of our fleet. In this specialised position, you’ll be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft wheel assemblies and braking systems. Your expertise will help maintain optimal braking performance, manage wear and tear, and ensure compliance with aviation safety standards.

For the successful candidate, there will also be the potential for product certification qualification (NLCS) to be attained after a minimum qualification period (subject to performance and availability).

Responsibilities

- Inspect, maintain, repair, and overhaul aircraft wheel assemblies and braking systems
- Ensure braking performance is optimal and compliant with aviation safety standards
- Assist in managing wear and tear on wheel/brake components
- Adhere to Qantas Maintenance procedures and safety requirements
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders

You’ll have

- Certificate IV in Aeroskills, or the ability to successfully transfer your qualifications through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process OR an Allied trade qualification or Australian recognised equivalent qualification
- Prior experience working within components (Wheels & Brakes) advantageous
- Commitment to being customer focused with flexibility and willingness to undertake other reasonable duties as required
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
- Demonstrated ability to work safety and adhering to all safety and compliance procedures
- High attention to detail and ability to comply with Qantas Maintenance procedures
- The ability to work to tight timelines with minimal supervision
- Flexibility with the ability to meet changing departmental requirements
