Job Overview

RSL Queensland is a dynamic, not-for-profit organisation delivering innovative programs and initiatives that support veterans and their families.

The Wellbeing Practitioner focuses on building therapeutic relationships with veterans and their families by partnering them with local agencies, health practitioners, Government departments, and other ex-service organisations. By responding to and working with our ex-service community, you will be empowering veterans to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.

Our multi-disciplined Wellbeing team also plays an active role in supporting its local community by promoting our services and building important relationships with other community members.

Key Responsibilities

- Working with veterans and their families within our homelessness and financial hardship programs.
- Assessing clients and preparing case management plans that support an outcomes-based approach to veteran wellbeing.
- Conducting home and hospital visits to veterans to ensure they receive emotional support, counselling or other assistance as required.

Requirements

- Completed Degree qualification in Humanities/Arts (Social Welfare) or Health Sciences or Social Science or similar, along with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a relevant position
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Strength-based Case Management
- Aptitude for and interest in completing your ATDP or MILADW001 in Welfare
- Proficiency in planning and managing client workloads across highly sensitive environments
- Ability to rapidly build rapport and trust.
