The role

Applications are currently invitedfrom experienced and/or aspirational leaders to join our SecondarySchool teaching and learning team in the position of Head of PE,Health, Wellbeing & RE Faculty, Years 7-12.

Commencing January 2026, you will beresponsible for ensuring an ongoing focus on the science oflearning, a knowledge-rich curriculum and the support anddevelopment of your staff. As a Head of Faculty, you will ensure afocus on strategic goals in regard to student achievement, teacherengagement and performance.

In addition to the role of Head ofFaculty, you will also have a teaching load commensurate with theposition. Note: an ongoing teaching contract will be offered tothe successful applicant. The position of responsibility will beoffered on a tenured basis for four years in accordance with ourpolicy.

Key result areas

This broad leadership positionincludes, but is not limited to, the following keyresponsibilities:

- Oversee the quality of instruction for the faculty, with afocus on the Science of Learning and Rosenshine’sprinciples of Instruction.
- Manage the human resources for the faculty, including taskssuch as chairing regular team meetings, managing staff,classroom visits, ensuring administration is conducted in anefficient and timely manner, dealing with interpersonal issuesaffecting the team, working with curriculum leaders to dealwith parent concerns and performance issues.
- Ensure the required curriculum documentation, based on theUnderstanding by Design framework, is complete andaccurate.
- Ensure the assessments are valid, authentic and reportedappropriately.
- Manage the physical resources for the faculty, includingbudgets, classroom equipment, capital forecasts, technologyrequirements and appropriate resources as requested by othersin the faculty.
