DTMI Maritime is the lead agency for a multimillion-dollar program of transformational waterfront and infrastructure projects along the Western Australian coastline for the benefit of the WA community. We are delivering an unprecedented level of investment in our recreational and commercial boating infrastructure, including marine and land side development opportunities, to enhance customer amenities and the visitor experience.

As a Project Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of a dynamic 10-year capital works program—designing, upgrading, and building maritime infrastructure that supports communities, industry, and the environment.

You’ll collaborate with passionate professionals and stakeholders across the state, from the earliest planning stages through to hands-on construction. This role may require the incumbent to travel to regional locations to undertake site-based roles during construction phases.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next 12 months from date of first appointment across the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have

- Relevant engineering degree (civil, coastal, mechanical, electrical) and eligibility for professional membership (e.g., Institution of Engineers Australia).
- Experience in project management of maritime or civil engineering infrastructure, including procurement and construction oversight.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills, with ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving ability, applied to complex projects and operational challenges.
- A collaborative team approach, working across multi-disciplinary teams and external partners.
