Food Services Assistant

About the Role

In this hands-on role, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional food service to patients and customers.

- Prepare and serve meals and beverages in line with dietary requirements and hospital standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation under the direction of our cooks and chef.
- Deliver and collect menus, food trays, and beverages.
- Maintain cleanliness within the department in accordance with the Food Safety Plan and HACCP standards.
- Support the catering team with stock management and daily operations.
- Work across a rotating 7-day roster, including morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts.

You will report to the Catering Manager and work alongside a supportive, dedicated team.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be a positive and energetic team player with a strong focus on customer service. You will also bring:

- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and WHS practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, professional manner.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in a hospital or commercial kitchen setting (highly regarded but not essential).
- Basic knowledge of computers desirable as we have an online system of menus.
- Certificate II or III in Hospitality (desirable).

Highly desirable: Previous experience in a hospital catering team.

Remuneration

On offer is an hourly rate ranging from $25.62 + casual loading + superannuation based on experience and qualifications, exclusive of penalties and allowances.

Requirements

- Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
- According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
