About Bidgerdii Community Health Services

Bidgerdii Community Health Service is a not-for-profit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Health Organisation that has been serving the Rockhampton and Central Queensland region for over 30 years. Established in 1995, we provide culturally safe, comprehensive primary healthcare and wellbeing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

With services ranging from general practice and allied health to social and emotional wellbeing, chronic disease management, transport services, and family and children’s health, we operate across Rockhampton, Mount Morgan and the Central Highlands. Our mission is to empower healthier communities through integrated, culturally responsive care.

Our vision is for Healthy and Strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities – self-determining, culturally strong, and thriving in their own way.

About the Opportunity

Bidgerdii Community Health Service is looking for a full-time HRM Coordinator based in Rockhampton, QLD.

This role reports to the Corporate Services Manager and will lead the delivery of HR and WHS functions across our growing multi-site health service. It’s a hands‑on role requiring a self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven environment.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Coordinating HRM functions including recruitment, onboarding, policy development, and compliance

- Leading WH&S activities including training coordination, committee participation, incident investigation, and audit support

- Maintaining and developing internal HR systems (including HRIS, Employment Hero, and LogiQC)

- Providing advice on industrial relations, Fair Work, and workplace investigations

- Driving continuous improvement in HR/WHS processes and systems

- Managing employment contracts and overseeing EAP, return‑to‑work programs

- Leading performance review and development plans across the organisation

- Supervising HR support staff and assisting in accreditation/compliance frameworks

- Supporting quality audits and organisational accreditation programs, including ISO, AGPAL, WHS, and other regulatory frameworks

- Holding delegated authority for HR‑related processes, including contract management, performance planning, and small‑scale financial approvals

About You

To qualify, you will need a tertiary qualification (Certificate IV or Diploma level minimum) in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years experience in a HR or WHS coordination role is essential.

As our ideal candidate, you are values‑driven, culturally sensitive, and passionate about contributing to better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment and are confident working independently without the need for close supervision. You’re known for your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and you take initiative to improve systems, solve problems, and support others. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, you are always looking for ways to refine processes and contribute meaningfully to a high‑performing team. You’ll bring a high level of attention to detail, the ability to build strong internal relationships, and the confidence to make informed decisions.

Practical Requirements:

- Valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check)

- Current C Class Driver’s Licence (QLD)

- Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A and pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment

- Satisfactory Police Criminal History Check

- Ideally, you will bring a sound understanding of workplace health and safety frameworks and the ability to guide compliance and risk mitigation across multiple sites. Experience within a not‑for‑profit, Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS), or community‑based organisation will also be highly regarded.

What We Offer

At Bidgerdii, we offer more than just a job — we offer an opportunity to make meaningful contributions to community health and wellbeing.

In return for your hard work and passion, you’ll receive:
