Location: Perth Children's Hospital, QEII Campus, Nedlands Unit/Division: Child and Adolescent Health Service - Child and Adolescent Health Service This is a full‑time, permanent appointment for this position, as well as for any other similar vacancies that may arise. Position Profile: The Coordinator Nursing – Surgical provides operational leadership for acute clinical services, ensuring high‑quality nursing care and effective management of financial, human, and information resources. Reporting to the Nursing Co‑Director, the role works independently and collaboratively with the hospital team to maintain excellence in clinical standards, customer service, and organisational governance. This position contributes to the hospital’s strategic direction and leads staff in managing daily service demand and activity. It oversees resource allocation within budget and monitors internal and external factors to ensure services remain responsive to patient needs. The Coordinator evaluates performance within clinical governance frameworks and represents the organisation on relevant committees, while also leading responses to ministerial enquiries, complaints, and incidents. Professionally, the role provides expert nursing advice to the Nursing Co‑Director and executive team, and is accountable for policy development and implementation. It ensures high standards of nursing practice and promotes best practice in care delivery. Strong financial management, analytical skills, and knowledge of human resource principles are essential, along with highly developed communication skills across written, verbal, and digital platforms.
