This is for a Permanent Full Time appointment. What is our Senior Health Promotion Officer role? This posiiton plans, implements andevaluates statewide health promotion initiatives, with the aim ofmaximising the participation of WA women in the National CervicalScreening Program (NCSP), in particular groups of women known to beat risk of under-screening or never screening; assists in theimplementation of strategic priorities and key functions of theWACCPP. AreaProfile In mid-2006, as part of the health reform inWestern Australia, KEMH joined with other women's based healthservices to form the new WNHS, which is a part of the larger NMHS. With dedicated staff and best practices basedon the most current evidence-based medicine, WNHS continues todeliver first-class health care to women and infants inWA. KEMH is the State's only tertiary maternityand gynaecological hospital and treated its first patients in 1916.Today more than 6000 births take place at the hospital every yearand it is WA's only major referral centre for high-riskpregnancies. KEMH also has a state-of-the-art Special Care Nursery,designed to care for premature and sick infants. KEMH also cares for approximately 5000 womenwith gynaecological conditions each year - from urological andcancer related problems to sexually transmitted diseases andreproductive disorders. WNHS also offer a maternity and gynaecologyunit at Osborne Park Hospital (OPH) which provides gynaecology careand obstetric care to women with low to moderate riskpregnancies. Women may choose to receive care at OPH forgeneral convenience whilst receiving equally specialised care at asmaller suburban site. WNHS manages several state wide services suchas BreastScreen WA, and other specialist programs for women andbabies.
