Site and Service

Whyalla Hospital

Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is a large regional hospital comprising 75 beds including flex beds and a designated High Dependency Unit. The hospital provides a wide range of services, including emergency, medical and surgical, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatients. Whyalla Hospital’s Cancer Resource Centre is one of the largest in regional South Australia. It includes six chemotherapy chairs, outpatient care and counselling services, reducing the need to travel outside the region for care. It is also one of three stroke services in regional SA, providing specialised treatment for suitable stroke patients 24/7, supported by metropolitan stroke units. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. About the Role

About You

- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.

- Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.

- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing and/or midwifery practice in accordance with the relevant standards.

- Experience in management and leadership roles.

- Experience in the supervision of students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and or midwives.
