We have 23 classroom teachers, 6 specialist teachers, 25 Education Support Officers (Student Learning), full time IT technician and part time Library person. Our school is well resourced enabling us to implement strategies to address the needs of all students, including those with special needs. Assessment for High Quality Practice at Mildura South Primary. Assessment is formative and teachers gather in their Professional Learning Communities to discuss the best practice to ensure that all students have the opportunity and learning experiences that enables them to flourish. Summative Assessment is carried out each term in Literacy and Numeracy and goals are set according to individual needs to facilitate each child being taught at their point of need.
Parent support, dedicated staff and positive students ensures excellence in education at Mildura South Primary.
Selection Criteria
SC1 - Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate high-quality childcare programs, including but not limited to, Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) and Vacation Care programs.
SC2 - Demonstrated ability to lead a team of educators to deliver a safe, supportive and stimulating environment for all children.
SC3 - Possess the relevant technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position, including but not limited to Victorian Child Safe Standards, Education and Care Act and Regulations, National Quality Standards (NQS) and Framework for School Age Care in Australia (FSAC).
SC4 - Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive, respectful and collaborative relationships with children, families, school staff, and external agencies.
SC5 - Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and professional learning for both self and others.
Role
Coordinate Out of School Hours Care program (includes before school, after school and vacation care).
The coordinator is responsible for the quality of care ensuring it is of a high standard and ensures the educational and recreational programs offered are undertaken in a safe, stimulating and supportive environment for all children attending the program.
The coordinator is responsible for the supervision of any other OSHC educators and to work alongside and support the staff of the service.
The coordinator is responsible for the purchase of food and consumables within the budget allowance.
To always adhere to the Education and Care Services National Regulations under the Education and Care Services National Law, as well as the policies, goals and philosophy of the service.
To uphold the 'National Quality Framework' and 'National Quality Standards' as per the Service's philosophy, goals, policies and procedures.
The coordinator will be the nominated supervisor and educational leader for the service and will perform and/or supervise tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice and school policy.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position will be:
- Lead the planning and implementation of a high quality educational program
- Lead the promotion of the health and safety of all staff and children
- Lead the team to build positive relationships with all stakeholders
- Contribute to the effective management of the service

Qualifications required include:
Qualified or undertaking studies in an ACECQA approved qualification .
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or Teachers Registration Card (VIT)
Approved Anaphylaxis Management Training & Emergency Asthma Management Training
Experience in childcare management system Xplore would be highly regarded.

You will be required to be flexible with shifts to accommodate the program's operational hours.
Our Before School Care program operates from 6.45am to 8.35am and After School Care program operates from 3.15pm to 6.00pm during school terms.
During vacation care and student free days, we operate from 8am to 6pm.
