The School
Lesmurdie Senior High School (SHS) is a co-educational school catering to around 1000 students, supported by 100 staff. Lesmurdie SHS is seeking to appoint a passionate and innovative Health and Physical Education Teacher who is responsive to change and can cater for the learning styles of future ready students. The successful applicant ideally will facilitate the development of independent and confident learners and be willing to join our team of like-minded professionals.
The successful applicant should possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to provide students with the highest quality curriculum delivery and programs within the Learning Area. You would have a thorough understanding of instructional and curriculum design whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments.
You should be reflective in assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice and able to cultivate a safe and accountable learning environment, underpinning our core value of respect. Specifically, you should be student and relationship focused and able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning.
The successful applicant will teach Lower School Health and Physical Education subjects across Years 7-10 as well as General and/or ATAR courses in Outdoor Education, Health Studies or Physical Education Studies, with a qualification to deliver Certificate III Aquatics, Sport and Recreation is highly desirable. It is also desirable that the successful applicant have qualifications in Roping, Paddling, Mountain Biking, Camping, First Aid, Bronze Medallion and a bus licence. Recent experience and a commitment to organise and manage camps, health curriculum, whole school and/or year group carnivals and events are also ideal.
