North East Metropolitan Language Development Centre (NEMLDC) is seeking to establish a pool of hardworking and motivated Speech and Language Specialists for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise up to the end of Term 4, 2026.
NEMLDC is a specialist school for children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). We provide specialist speech, language and academic intervention for children from Kindergarten to Year 2. Staff members work in a collaborative team that includes teachers, speech pathologists, school psychologists, education assistants and administration staff.
The Role
The Speech and Language Specialist develops and supports the implementation of specialised language programmes for students with identified speech and language difficulties/impairments. A key aspect of the role is building the capacity of teachers and Level 1 Speech and Language Officers (Speech Pathologists) to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to maximise language learning outcomes for students with language impairments.
