Are you an experienced accounting professional ready to take ownership of end-to-end financial operations? This is an opportunity for a seasoned Senior Financial Accountant to play a pivotal role in managing financial integrity, driving reporting excellence, and supporting strategic decision-making within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

About the Role

As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will lead key financial and management accounting functions, ensuring all processes are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time. You'll work closely with senior leadership, support operational teams, and be a trusted advisor across all financial matters. This role suits someone who is highly analytical, detail-obsessed, and confident managing complex financial workflows.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Financial Operations & Reporting

- Maintain and monitor the fixed asset register, ensuring timely tracking and reconciliation.

- Partner with senior leadership to analyse financial performance and provide meaningful insights.

- Prepare statutory accounts and consolidated financial reports.

- Support budget development, including annual budgets and monthly rolling forecasts.

- Complete monthly payroll processing for staff and partners, including associated reconciliations.

- Prepare and lodge workers compensation documentation and year-end payroll requirements.

Month-End & Year-End Management

- Perform key General Ledger reconciliations for accurate month-end reporting.

- Compile high-quality management reports to support executive decision-making.

- Manage lodgements for BAS, IAS, payroll tax, and other compliance-related submissions.

- Reconcile Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts at year end ahead of audit and tax preparation.

- Support Fringe Benefits Tax compliance and assist with trust audit requirements.

- Respond proactively to queries arising during the close process.

Team Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Onboard new employees with payroll and system training.

- Work closely with team members across finance, credit, and accounts payable.

- Provide support to payroll, compliance, and broader finance initiatives as required.

- Assist leaders and partners with financial or payroll-related queries.

What You'll Bring

Experience & Qualifications

- 8+ years' experience in a similar financial accounting role.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.

- CA or CPA qualification (essential).

Skills & Expertise

- Deep understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

- Strong proficiency with accounting and payroll systems.

- Prefrence for an Accountant with Aderant Software experience in legal or professional services
- Advanced Excel and MS Office capabilities.

- Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Confident communicator with well-developed written and verbal skills.

- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team culture.
