Community Chaplain

Providence Christian College is a co-educational, non-denominational, K-12 College with around 1100 students in Southern River, WA.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the following Permanent, Full-time position commencing in January 2025.

Community Chaplain

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

1. an active Christian Faith
2. a passion for mentoring and supporting staff, families and students in an engaging and relevant way that is faithful to the Bible and practical in its application
3. a passion for providing social, emotional and spiritual support to staff and families within the College community.
4. a heart for service to others and a commitment to fostering a supportive faith-based environment
5. the capacity to work collegially in a team including the Church, Principal, College Counsellor, and College Chaplains to ensure the best outcomes for our students, families and staff
6. previous experience in chaplaincy, counselling, or pastoral ministry is preferred.

Personal Qualities:

1. You are passionate about living out your Christian faith and are prepared to model, uphold, and support the Ethos of the College and its Core Values.
2. You have the appropriate qualifications to be a Chaplain in WA.
3. You are prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that our students, families and staff have easy access to quality pastoral care.
4. You are comfortable with digital technology and confident using it in your ministry at the College.
5. You are deeply relational, friendly and open to learning and growing in the role.
6. You have excellent communication skills, using verbal and written communication effectively with students, families and staff members.

Qualifications:

1. Qualifications in Ministry and/or Theology, Psychology or Counselling.
2. Current Working With Children Card.
3. Current Police Clearance.

Additional Requirements:

1. The successful applicant will be expected to complete the National Principles Child Safe Modules if not already completed.
2. You must have the right to live and work in Australia (VEVO checks will be conducted to confirm your eligibility to work in Australia).
3. The successful applicant will be expected to be or become a member and regular attender at either Thornlie Church of Christ or Southern River Church of Christ.
