About this role:

The Surgical Specialist (SS) is a member of a highly focussed and specialised sales channel dedicated to driving the adoption of surgical techniques and technologies selected by Applied Medical as a core part of the national growth strategy, which support us in making a meaningful and positive difference in healthcare.

The Surgical Specialist Team is across Australia and New Zealand that reports to the Surgical Solutions Manager (SSM) and are geographically aligned with the Regional/Country Sales Teams for the purposes of shared sales opportunities and responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Promoting Surgical Innovations: Actively generate interest and facilitate the development of selected surgical techniques and technologies through various channels.
2. Surgeon Selection and Training: Identify and vet surgeons or candidates for training, ensuring successful product adoption within the surgical community.
3. Training and Workshops: Organise and facilitate training courses and workshops in collaboration with local faculty and proctors to enhance proficiency and knowledge of our products.
4. Building Relationships: Identify, develop, and manage relationships with local faculty and proctors to strengthen our network, brand and support clinical adoption.
5. Technology Accessibility: Ensure that our technologies are readily available and accessible to surgeons within relevant hospitals in our targeted region, aligning with our strategic growth initiatives and engaging with product evaluation committees and procurement teams.
6. Industry Engagement: Attend relevant society and third-party workshops and conferences to enhance our visibility and strategically position our offerings within the market.
7. Collaboration: Work in conjunction with the wider Applied Medical field team on special projects aimed at driving market adoption and growth across assigned specialties and areas of focus.
8. Uncovering Multiple Channels: Explore and leverage various channels within the healthcare sector to raise consumer awareness and promote our innovative surgical solutions.
9. Developing Strategic Sales Plans: Create and implement strategic sales plans to manage the region effectively, ensuring that maintenance and growth objectives are supported and achieved.

About you:

You are currently working in healthcare, medical device sales and/or have operating theatre experience.

You have:

1. Highly collaborative, excels in teamwork and possess strong communication skills.
2. Strong business acumen with a history of high performance and professionalism.
3. A proven history of sales and KPI performance and achievement.
4. Knowledge of laparoscopic surgical specialties (e.g., general, gynecological, bariatric surgery) and products.
5. Strong existing relationships within the Operating Theatre landscape of the region.
6. Knowledge of Australian and/or New Zealand healthcare systems and dynamics.
7. A passion for, and genuine interest in healthcare with the zest and drive to create positive change.
8. Experience in planning and implementing clinical education and training.
9. Strong administrational skills pertaining to self-management in meeting all organisational requirements and deadlines.
10. Ability to travel as required.
