We have an enticing residential Heritage Coordinator – Kalgoorlie position awaiting you at the world class KCGM Operations. Promising a long-term and fulfilling future, join our team on the convenience of a 5/2, 4/3 (9-hour days) roster.

The primary accountability of the role is to support the effective implementation of cultural heritage surveys and cultural monitoring with site teams and Traditional Owners across the Kalgoorlie Production Centre.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate delivery of cultural heritage surveys and monitoring activities across Northern Star’s Operations in the Kalgoorlie Production Centre. Prepare and submit heritage survey requests to Traditional Owner Groups.
- Support the Senior Community & Heritage Advisor to review reports and communicate findings to key internal business areas to ensure compliance to internal standards, agreement conditions and statutory requirements. Provide guidance to operational areas to maintain cultural heritage management best practice and legal compliance.
- Guide internal stakeholders to maintain highly functional relationships with Traditional Owners based on trust and respect.
- Provide direct support and engagement to local Aboriginal communities with regards to Northern Star’s activities.
- Support implementation of Northern Star’s Social Performance Strategy across the business.
- Display a clear commitment to safety and health and seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment. Operate in accordance with and comply the Company’s Safety and Health Policy, and with all site policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Display a clear commitment to responsible environmental management. Manage all activities in a manner that prevents pollution and minimises damage to the natural environment. Operate in accordance with the Company’s Environmental Policy, and comply with other site environmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll need

Experiences:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a project management, community development, cultural heritage or administration role.
- Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and Traditional Owners.
- The ability to multitask, prioritise and organise several concurrent projects under tight time pressures.
- Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples lived reality.
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment with confidentiality and respect.
- Complex problem-solving abilities to deliver solutions across the business.

Qualifications:

- National Police Clearance within 12 months (Desired)
