About the Role
ALS Water Resources business stream is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician (Biology) to join our valued team in Scoresby, Victoria.
This role is ideal for someone prepared to learn from the ground up and develop their skills within the role. Training will be provided and would suit someone with a genuine interest in Biology/Botany.
This role is a permanent, full-time role Monday to Friday. During the training period hours will be 8AM – 4PM.
The duties of this position include but are not limited to:
- Analysis of algae using light microscope as primary responsibility.
- Analysis of chlorophylls in water.
- Sample preparation.
- General laboratory housekeeping.
- Ensuring that the quality of work is maintained in accordance with QWIs.
- Meeting turn-around requirements.
- Adhering to all safety requirements.
The ideal candidate would have the following attributes:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Light microscopy experience.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Works effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Shows attention to detail.
- A safety focus.
