What You Will Be Doing

As a casual Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist), you will collect blood and coordinate specimen samples from patients, delivering great customer service and quality healthcare. Hours vary and will depend on clinic need, with a roster that covers Monday–Friday and the possibility of weekend work.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Collecting samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attention

- Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample

- Delivering documentation within strict turnaround times

- Preparing and packaging specimens for transport and testing

- Liaising with customers, clinic staff and couriers

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Pathology Collector, or you will have gained a Cert III and be looking to embark on your Pathology Collection career. You could also be a Registered Nurse seeking regular daytime casual shifts instead of weekend and overnight work.

Attributes & Skills

- Experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy or a Certificate III in Pathology Collection, or a healthcare background

- Excellent customer service and communication skills with a high level of empathy

- Organised with strong time management and attention to detail

- Ability to work autonomously, including solo clinic work

- Valid driver’s license with flexibility to travel to multiple clinics

- Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain one

- Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or valid visa with work rights

- Ability to work across a range of hours

- Vaccine-preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement

- Other vaccinations based on location may be required
