Finance Manager

Overview

As a result of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, we are looking to add an energetic, commercially savvy Finance Manager to our Finance team.

The Role

We are seeking a qualified Finance Manager to join our professional, and friendly Finance team in our Smithfield head office.

As part of the broader national Finance team, you will report into the Financial Controller and be responsible for:

- Ensure month end reporting and variance analysis is completed within agreed specified timelines.
- In partnership with Sales and Operations, support commercial decision making with a focus on business plans and profitability analysis on various initiatives and any ad-hoc projects.
- In conjunction with relevant stakeholders internally and externally, monitor, review and evaluate, pricing of key inputs across the regional branches, including powder, gas and electricity price, and making any recommendations on improved pricing disciplines and opportunities.
- Daily reporting of key KPI’s, including but not limited to sales, sales margins, order intake, order intake margins, order book by branch
- Prepare the monthly management reporting information including but not limited to the following areas, and any others requested from time to time:
- P&L reporting by regional branch
- Actual to budget analysis
- Variance analysis
- Inventory analysis
- Tax payment review and franking details
- Provisions analysis
- Balance Sheet analysis

- Coordinate preparation of year end accounts and tax returns.
- Coordinate audit preparation with internal and external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant fiscal lodgement requirements and deadlines.
- Assist the Financial Controller with forecast and budget preparation.

- Other tasks as requested by management. Manage the preparation of year end schedules and reporting to the auditors
- Review all monthly provisions & accruals across Customer Deposits, Warranty, Annual Leave, Long Service Leave, bad/doubtful debts, all tax provisions, future Income tax benefits and income tax expense.

Qualifications

- 5 years+ experience gained in the manufacturing industry
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting standards for a public company
- Microsoft Navision or Dynamics experience, desirable
- Highly commercial, analytical, and capable of making data driven decisions
- Demonstrated ability to identify trends and opportunities quickly and effectively
- Sound judgment skills with the ability to interpret evaluate and disseminate information
- Ability to create winning cultures and develop high performing teams
- Ability to influence, develop and coach team members to ensure the delivery of a positive and engaged customer experience
- Ability to manage complex business relationships and managing a diverse team
