We’re looking for veterinarians ready to make a real impact, from farm gates to family pets. Based across two long standing practices just 20 minutes apart, you’ll join a supportive team delivering quality mixed practice medicine to the communities of Portland and Heywood, Victoria.

About the Clinics

Portland Vet Clinic has been a cornerstone of the community for over 20 years, providing exceptional small animal care. With state-of-the-art facilities including a fully equipped x-ray room, IDEXX lab, dental suite with drill and scaler, lift tables, and generous consult/procedure spaces, you’ll have the tools you need to deliver excellent medicine. Opening hours: 8am–6pm weekdays.

Heywood Vet Clinic is their satellite practice and the hub for production animal services. Here, you’ll work hands-on with beef and sheep enterprises, including preparing livestock consignments for export to overseas markets. Opening hours: 8am–5pm weekdays.

Both clinics are supported by experienced and dedicated nursing and admin staff, making sure you can focus on doing what you do best. After hours emergency care is shared across the team, with strong support in place. Everybody pulls together when there’s work and relaxes when it’s time, decisions can be made quickly, and ideas are encouraged.

About You

- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in mixed practice, or
- A new graduate (2026 intake) eager to build skills in both companion and production animal medicine.
- A passion for high-quality, compassionate veterinary care.
- A desire for a role that balances professional development with lifestyle.
