Overview

A Day in the Life of a Support Worker

7:30 AM – Coffee in hand, ready to start the shift. If plans change, I’m quickly reassigned to another client for a Personal care & Medication assist shift. Flexibility is part of the day.

8:00 AM – I arrive at the client’s home, assist with showering and dressing, and provide support with medication as part of the morning routine.

8:30 AM – After morning routines, I travel to two more personal care visits. I continue with tasks and support as needed.

11:00 AM – 1 PM – After completing personal care shifts, I provide domestic assistance (bed making, vacuuming, mopping, ironing, cooking, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom) for the next client. I engage with the client and begin tasks efficiently.

1 PM – I continue to the last client for grocery shopping, planning meals, and assistance with shopping. I assist with selecting items and share conversations along the way.

3:30 PM – Deliver groceries, ensure the home is organized, and conclude the day with client goodbyes. I log notes in the system after each visit using mobile apps for a clear record on the way home.

What You/'ll Bring:

- Passion for Helping: A genuine interest in supporting clients and making their lives better.

- Qualifications: Qualified Support Worker with a Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, or equivalent.

- Must-Haves: A driver’s license, reliable car, comprehensive insurance, WWCC and First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain).

- Tech-Friendly: Comfortable using smartphones and tablets.
