Zimmermann is a globally recognized luxury brand known for its sophisticated femininity and innovative design. We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Design and Development Assistant to support our Swim and Resort product line. This is a full-time opportunity based in our Rosebery studio, ideal for someone with a strong foundation in fashion design and a keen eye for detail.

As a Design and Development Assistant, you’ll collaborate closely with our Senior Design Directors, Design Room Manager – Swim and Resort, and the broader creative team to bring seasonal visions to life. You’ll contribute to design research, technical drawings, sample development, and ensure our collections meet Zimmermann’s high standards. You’ll be part of a dynamic team that values creativity, integrity, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist Senior Designers with research, sketches, and seasonal design boards.

- Create technical sketches and splicing CADs for production and pattern making.

- Maintain and organize raw material libraries including fabric hangers and trim folders.

- Photograph and document Proto and SMS samples for internal circulation.

- Set up styles and manage sample dye jobs and cutting orders in PLM.

- Complete embroidery and laser cut templates for SMS, PPS, and graded patterns.

- Assist sample cutters and support quality control of salesman samples.

- Manage DHL parcel sending and support logistics as guided by the Design Development Manager.

Key Skills

- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role

- Fashion design degree with strong academic and creative achievements

- Advanced skills in Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign

- Strong illustration and technical drawing abilities

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- A creative thinker with a personal style and strong design instincts

- Someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

- A proactive team player who is results-driven and adaptable
