Find purpose and impact
Find purpose and make an impact through this dynamic and challenging position, you'll be responsible for all matters pertaining to the maintenance and repair of Council's diverse fleet of vehicles, plant, and equipment, encompassing both mechanical and electrical systems, in the Dubbo and Wellington workshop facilities as well as field service and breakdown responses. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our municipal operations run smoothly.
As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively. We currently have multiple vacancies for positions based in our Dubbo & Wellington Workshops with the opportunity to work out on location at Council’s project-based worksites.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Carrying out diagnosis and repairs of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
- Working autonomously across various locations
- Effectively communicating with different levels of the organisation
- Fostering good teamwork and high staff morale within the team, including supervision of apprentices
- Ensuring high quality standards of workmanship
What you'll bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Cert III Qualification and licence in Motor Mechanics, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or Plant Mechanics
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated trade experience in repairs and diagnosis for a variety of equipment and the subsequent work required
- Basic computer skills
We would also love you to have:
- Experience with computer diagnostic equipment
- Motor Vehicle Repairers Licence
- Current RMS Motor and Heavy Vehicle Inspection Authority
- Fork Lift Licence, air conditioning installers licence or welding experience
- Class HR Driving Licence

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $78,323 to $91,026 ($39.49 to $45.89 per hour).
