Join our team as our Principal Adviser Digital Communications and Data Analytics
Are you a strategic digital leader with a passion for analytics, innovation, and community engagement? This role puts you at the forefront of Redland City Council’s digital communications and data-driven strategy, shaping online content, engagement, and campaigns. You’ll also lead a small team, with the Digital Communications Officer reporting directly to you.
Responsibilities
- Leading data-driven digital strategies, including analytics, reporting, and optimisation of online services to enhance engagement and community outcomes.
- Driving the strategy and execution of social media campaigns, including paid advertising, to meet Council objectives.
- Overseeing websites to ensure content is accurate, accessible, user-focused, and informed by analytics and user behaviour.
- Supporting e-newsletters, photography, and video projects, using insights to optimise reach and engagement.
- Mentoring and training the content author network and your team, fostering digital literacy and analytical thinking across the organisation.
- Providing leadership in emerging technologies and digital trends, translating insights into actionable strategies and policies.
Skills and experience
- Proven experience in managing complex digital environments: UX, CMS, analytics, accessibility, and content networks.
- Expertise in social media strategy, analytics, and paid campaigns, with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Skilled in digital content creation, including photography and video production from concept to delivery.
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring experience, with a track record of building digital capability.
- Strategic thinker with a flair for translating analytics into actionable digital communications strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
