About the opportunity:
Reporting to our Team Leader – Housing Support and as part of the Service Delivery Team, you’ll play a key role in the delivery of first-class homelessness support to the veteran community and their families.
You will provide comprehensive, evidence-based, and person-centred support to veterans and families facing housing challenges. Utilising your expertise in trauma-informed and strengths-based case management, you will empower clients to overcome barriers to securing and maintaining safe, stable, and sustainable housing. You will guide clients through the complexities of the rental market, and assist them in accessing public, social and community housing options where eligible, fostering resilience housing security.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and providing safe, compassionate, integrated and holistic homelessness support that locates the veteran and/or their family at the centre of their support and service networks.
- Fostering active veteran and/or family engagement in the identification, development and implementation of individualised housing goals through personalised case management plan.
- Applying best practice and veteran-centred knowledge and skills to engage, support, and empower veterans and their families to identify and overcome their homelessness barriers and meet their housing needs
- Case managing clients who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.
- Assisting with applications for social and community housing; private rental applications; and tenancy sustainment strategies and support

Qualifications and experience:
You’ll have completed an undergraduate degree in Human Services, Social Sciences, Health Sciences (or equivalent).
Experience working in housing and homelessness services, with a strong understanding of relevant policies, support frameworks, and community resources will make your application competitive.We also invite applications from recent graduates.
Your understanding of the ADF environment and its unique sensitivities would also be highly regarded.
