Secondary Science Teacher

Full Time | Stage 6 experience preferred | Charlton Christian College – Fassifern, NSW

Charlton Christian College is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Secondary Science Teacher to join our Senior School teaching team. The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject and Christian education, with the ability to teach Science (Years 7–12) and ideally Stage 6 Physics and/or Chemistry and/or Biology.

Charlton is an independent K–12 co-educational Christian school situated on 12 hectares of bushland on the western side of Lake Macquarie. We are a Christ-centred community that values Love, Integrity, Faith and Empowerment, and are committed to helping every student grow in character and capability.

About the Role

Full-time permanent position
Commencement: Term 1, 2026 or by negotiation
Teaching Science across Stages 4–6
Stage 6 experience in Physics and/or Chemistry and/or Biology desirable
The Successful Applicant Will Demonstrate:

A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, regular attendance in a local Christian church, and willingness to uphold and support the College's Statement of Faith in all aspects of the role
Knowledge of, and strong commitment to, child safety in an educational setting, including awareness of mandatory reporting obligations and safe practices when working with children and families
A current Working with Children Check (NSW)
NESA-recognised teaching qualifications and accreditation (or provisional registration)
Proven ability to align professional practice with the AITSL Teacher Standards
Capacity to integrate a Christian perspective into curriculum and classroom practice
Evidence of the following behavioural competencies:
Working with People – Builds positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues; shows empathy and contributes to a supportive team environment
Adhering to Principles and Values – Demonstrates integrity and upholds the Christian ethos of the College
Planning and Organising – Plans effectively, meets deadlines, manages classroom responsibilities, monitors progress against deadlines and communicates progress with stakeholders
Presenting and Communicating Information – Communicates clearly with students, parents and colleagues
Adapting and Responding to Change – Adjusts positively to changing circumstances and student needs
