Your Impact:

Reporting to the Production and Continuous Improvement Manager and based at Smeaton Grange, you will be responsible for the correct setup and operation of equipment and overseeing the production process with safety and quality as your number one priority. As a reliable, flexible, team player you will ensure our small site is delivering product safely, of the highest quality, at the lowest cost, with minimal waste, and in the correct quantity always.

You will be working on a rotating shift roster, working 5:00am - 1:06pm one week and 10:30am - 6:36pm the next, including some Saturday shifts at an overtime rate.

More specifically, you will be involved in:

Setting up the machine as per the production plan.

Safe operation of the processing line and equipment.

Identify and report hazards, near misses, and incidents.

Clear jams, fix manufacturing defects, and problem solve machine breakdowns.

Confirm incoming materials are to specification.

Confirm the finished product is manufactured within specification.

Reading and recording batch information.

General cleaning of the site and equipment.

Depending on the day, you may also help with debagging, filling, processing, case packer dispatch and other manufacturing duties.

What you will bring:

Experience working in the food manufacturing industry is essential.

Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with Dairy experience highly regarded.

Operation of filling machines and related equipment.

People skills to talk with customers, suppliers, and the wider team.

Great reading and writing skills.

Ability to work unsupervised.

Forklift license is desirable but not essential.
