This is s senior role as a spokesperson for AME. As a Commodity Specialist and expert, you should have deep and comprehensive global knowledge in either steel, coal or iron ore. The role is to promote AME's position as a research house with a strong focus on Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the UK and the US.The role requires travel, mostly in Southeast Asia, with the ability to present at conferences on your area of specialisation. The role will suit someone who enjoys working in a professional services firm.

It would help to have long experience in a similar role in mineral economics, with a mineral economics firm, engineering consultancy, producer or banking. We offer a high level of autonomy, working with the senior management team in a comfortable environment. It may suit a very senior commodity expert who could work 3 days a week.

What will the role look like?

Deliver exceptional data, analysis, and forecasts to support clients in the mining and metals industry. You would be supported by 2 analysts.

Ensure the highest standards of quality for data, charts, and written content, continuously adapting to meet market demands and providing timely insights on significant market events.

Conduct comprehensive analyses and produce detailed reports on a regular basis.

Collaborate with analysts to develop and maintain advanced models for supply, demand, pricing, and production costs.

Engage in high-level information exchanges with knowledgeable customers and market participants.

About You

Naturally, you must have good analytical and communication skills, both oral and written. You should be extremely interested in the energy transition and have an appreciation of mining, metals, economics and technology.

Qualifications and Skills:

An experienced Commodity Analyst with strong communication and presentation skills.

Bachelor’s degree in mineral economics, engineering, economics or a related quantitative discipline.

Advanced written and verbal English skills, with strong presentation abilities.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and industry stakeholders.

Proven track record of delivering innovative market analysis and commentary.

Extensive experience and comfort in financial modelling.

Strong interest in economic policy and its implications for the economy.

Because we need to build collaboration with our various teams, this role will require a full-time in-office work requirement in Sydney CBD. There may be some workplace flexibility depending on our work schedule.
