Senior Analyst, Market and Financial Risk
As the Senior Analyst Market and Financial, you will analyse and challenge financial risk frameworks including liquidity, funding, interest rate, counterparty credit, capital management and budgeting/forecasting. You will be located in Brisbane or Sydney and have the flexibility to work from home two days per week.
You’ll make an impact by:
- Develop a thorough understanding of the regulatory requirements, processes, systems, and models used to monitor and make decisions about our financial risks.
- Support first line risk management to identify and analyse key risk measures and provide an independent view of whether the business is in control including analysing the risk framework, process and model design to ensure it is fit for purpose and working as intended.
- Develop, produce and/or contribute to regular and ad-hoc risk reporting as is required for regulators, boards, committees, executive management, and leadership teams.
- Accurately record, manage, monitor and escalate risk events.
- Prepare and produce risk insights that identify trends, patterns and concentration to interpret changes to the risk profile and high inherent risks that would have a material impact for Great Southern Bank.
- You will work within the team to review each other’s work and ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- 3+ years' experience in a similar role within the Financial Services sector.
- Working within a three lines of defence model for managing risk.
- Analysis of a range of financial instruments from an interest rate, liquidity, credit or financial risk perspective.
- Experience in managing and influencing multi-faceted stakeholders (internal and external) in order to meet competing priorities, different needs, and non-aligned expectations.
- Ability to build strong relationships at all levels to clearly communicate good risk management practices.
- Knowledge of relevant financial services regulatory and compliance considerations.
- Strategic thinking and ability to deliver solutions to risk issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
