IPS Child Protection Residential Intervention Services focus on attachment-centered care within a trauma-informed therapeutic environment in both residential and in home settings.

Position Overview:

As a casual Residential Youth Worker with Edmen, you can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are living in out-of-home care. Working with some of Australia’s best youth service providers, every day grants you a unique experience and adventure, empowering children and young people to live their best lives, in a nurturing and safe environment.

Pimpama and Helensvale

Shift times (these may vary):

AM: 0600 - 1400 + 0800 - 1800 + 1130 - 2030
PM: 1400 - 2200 + 2200 - 0600 (Passive) + 0600 – 0930

Our rosters are done in advance, which grants you some stability working in a casual environment. We also have emergency and ad hoc shifts available each week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Create a Safe and Supportive Home: Foster a secure, nurturing environment for at-risk youth.

- Empower Daily Living: Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence.

- Facilitate Transportation: Ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities.

- Promote Growth: Encourage skill development and socialization within the local community.

- Manage Health Needs: Administer medications and maintain accurate reporting.

- Deliver Trauma‑Informed Care: Support youth with complex behaviors using trauma-informed approaches.

- Engage in Therapeutic Practices: Participate in the Trauma Recovery framework and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within your first three months.

What You Need:

- ✅ Hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar (see full list of accepted qualifications on our website)

- ✅ Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher)

- ✅ Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

- ✅ Current First Aid & CPR certificate

- ✅ The ability to work a mixture of day, night and weekend shifts as required
