The Purpose

The Release and Deployment Practice Lead is responsible for the end-to-end design and governance of the ITIL-aligned Release Management, Deployment Management, and Service Validation and Testing practices. This includes oversight of service partner engagement, performance metrics, governance forums, reporting, and training to ensure alignment with AP+ requirements, industry standards, and legislative obligations.

A key focus of the role is stakeholder management to support the seamless onboarding and operational integration of products and services. Through strong collaboration, the Lead fosters continuous improvement in how services are designed, delivered, and evolved to meet customer needs effectively.

Responsibilities

- Lead and govern the end-to-end ITIL Release and Deployment Management practice, encompassing people, processes, and technology.

- Drive enhancements and new capabilities within ServiceNow and other key release management tools.

- Collaborate with other Practice Leads to support the ITSM tool delivery lifecycle for in-scope ServiceNow modules.

- Develop and maintain the practice roadmap and strategic approach.

- Build strong cross-functional relationships across IT and business to design and evolve services.

- Ensure smooth, low-impact deployments through effective release management processes.

- Oversee all phases of Release Management and SDLC for AP+ products and services.

- Analyse current-state systems and processes to support future-state design and implementation.

- Apply Agile methodologies and advise on CI/CD practices to enable automated release pipelines.

- Chair governance forums, manage compliance and security requirements, and monitor industry trends to identify improvement opportunities.

Capabilities

- ITIL4 (required)

- Certified Agile Service Manager / Agile Methodology (Preferred)

- 3+ years experience in Service Management

- Applying Release and Deployment standards across legacy and modern technology architecture

- Knowledge of the payments technology, IT systems and the financial industry
